The current iteration of MIUI is the Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5, which the third batch of phones to receive the update was released yesterday. Given the phones on the list, that seems to be the last phase of the rollout. If that’s the case, then we expect Xiaomi to complete the deployment on time for the MIUI 13 official release.
Xiaomi has delayed the MIUI 13 official release due to the issues that came up after MIUI 12 release. The latter saw total overhauling of the System UI, which left some bugs and made the system unstable. With that, the company had released an incremental version of MIUI 12 to address all the problems affecting MIUI. We are on the Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5, and we believe we have seen enough of that version.
According to a recent report, Xiaomi has already set sight on the MIUI 13 official release. The unveiling is expected in the coming weeks, and perhaps, at the same event, to announce the Xiaomi 12. Confirming the arrival, Redmi General Manager, Lu Weibing has hinted that MIUI 13 is coming soon.
The executive said, “MIUI 12.5 is here, will MIUI 1x be far behind,” quoting the post that announced the third batch of Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5. We believe MIUI 13 is what the executive is talking about, and we expect the release in the coming weeks.
The next iteration of MIUI is expected to improve stability and bring some visual changes. There’s a new smart toolbox feature in the works, as well as some security features. New application icons, fonts, animation, and redesigned notification panels are alleged features of MIUI 13. Hopefully, we will get to know more about the MIUI 13 official release date in the coming weeks.
