Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 release date confirmed?

It’s no secret that Xiaomi is working on the next iteration of HyperOS. The upcoming OS will be based on Android 15, and while Google has yet to release a stable build to Pixel users, Xiaomi looks like they might beat them to it, but is that even possible?

Google has finalized the Android 15 beta tests, with the Android 15 QPR1 Beta 1 update already available. The tech company will release Android 15 source code to AOSP next week, meaning Xiaomi can release the update to eligible phones on October 10, according to reports.

The stable Android 15 update will start seeding in mid-October, and with that, we doubt Xiaomi can roll out the update faster than Google. However, we saw the Xiaomi 14 debut in October last year, running the latest Android 14 OS, albeit it has been a few weeks since the OS was released. It seems the company is working to replicate that with the Xiaomi 15 series, though we don’t have any news of the official launch.

Nonetheless, a screenshot has been seen of a potential release date for HyperOS 2.0 to the Redmi K70 Ultra on October 10, the supposed date of the official release. Perhaps Xiaomi will debut the Xiaomi 15 series that day, as their latest flagship phones are always the first to run the new Android OS.

We may see the release of stable Android 15-based HyperOS on October 10, probably after Google must have released the update to Pixel phones. That could mean that Xiaomi will release its latest flagship phone that day. We hope to find out in the coming weeks, as October is still a couple of weeks, and things can change.

However, even when Xiaomi releases Android 15-based HyperOS on October 10, it will take weeks/months before arriving for stable users. There is always a series of stable beta tests before seeding to the public. The company will likely start group testing on October 10, which is a mostly stable build, hence, while the Redmi K70 Ultra supposed HyperOS build is a stable version.
