Software updates have become an integral part of smartphones. Many users consider how long a device is supported before purchasing. We have seen many companies review their support period, and Xiaomi is part of them. The company has also improved its update releases, and we understand they are already working on HyperOS 3.
The last few months have seen the release of two-point upgrades focusing on improvement and bug fixes. It has not stopped the company from developing the next iteration of HyperOS, HyperOS 3. Details of Xiaomi HyperOS 3 release time frame
According to reports from China, Xiaomi and other Chinese brands will release their upcoming Android skin in Q3 2025. Xiaomi is expected to lead the charge, given they are already organizing a public beta preview for the upcoming Android OS.
Google will release the stable Android 16 next month. We expect more Xiaomi phones to start testing the build after the release, which will be pushed to eligible phones with HyperOS 3. Last year, the Chinese company debuted its predecessor with Xiaomi 15, but it’s looking likely that will not be the case this time.
Nonetheless, there’s a possibility Xiaomi will wait until the release of its next flagship phone before announcing the release of the HyperOS 3. It’s likely both are released at the same time, but we hope to learn more about that in the coming weeks.
Features of Xiaomi HyperOS 3
Xiaomi has been improving the functionality of its Android skin since moving to HyperOS. We expect them to continue optimizing and improving animation with the upcoming OS. Unfortunately, we do not have comprehensive features, but we do not expect many user-facing changes.
