Xiaomi is rolling out the May 2024 security patch update to eligible users. The rollout is limited to a few devices currently, but we expect more people to start getting the update in the coming days.
The last few months have seen Xiaomi improve on its security patch releases. They’re currently ahead of most Smartphone brands in rolling out the latest security patch update. While we are still in April, the Chinese tech company has started rolling out the May 2024 security patch update, but it’s limited to a few phones.
Google is yet to release the May 2024 security patch bulletin, but we expect it to include some security vulnerabilities fixes. We recommend installing the update on your Xiaomi device when prompted. Currently, only the Redmi Pad SE units are getting the update. It comes with a version number OS1.0.2.0.UMUMIXM.
Aside from improving security and stability, the update has resolved some issues introduced by the initial HyperOS build. We recommend installing the update if you are having any problems after upgrading to Android 14 with HyperOS.
