Xiaomi Mi 10 is the latest device to start pushing the MIUI 12.5 update. It’s the global models that are receiving the update after the Chinese release a couple of weeks ago. The rollout is live in Australia, and it seems to be a public rollout, meaning the update will appear on all eligible phones soon.
The MIUI 12.5 update has been rolling out for months now starting, with the models in China. Of course, the Chinese version of the Mi 10 has already received the update, hinting at imminent global rollout. It took some time for the update to start seeding, but according to reports from Australia, the update is live in that Region. According to a screenshot posted to Telegram, the global Mi 10 MIUI 12.5 global update is now rolling out.
Interestingly, the update is seeding for everyone. It comes as MIUI 12.5.1.0 RJBMIXM in a 943MP package. The update has improved the device performance with the changes on the log, which are features of the new MIUI OS. Also, it has pushed the Android security patch level to May 2021 to increase system security, while a new camera feature has been added. With the update, “calls and notifications can be silenced during video calling.”
Aside from the changes in the log, you can now uninstall system apps while the haptic feedback system has improved. Unfortunately, the Mi 10 MIUI 12.5 global update couldn’t address the third-party launcher issue, and hence, you’ll continue using the system launcher.
