It has been two weeks since the official unveiling of MIUI 13 Android skin in China. The roadmap released after the release shows that eligible devices, starting with the premium Mi 11 series phones, will start getting the update in mid-January. Unsurprisingly, the company has completed the first batch of the rollout, as they released the Xiaomi Mi 10S Android 12-based MIUI 13 update in China.
The Xiaomi Mi 10S isn’t on the list of devices to receive the stable MIUI 13 update with the first rollout. That means the company has started the second phase of the rollout, although the global models are yet to receive the update. With the recent development, we expect a global release in the coming days, starting with the Mi 11 series phones. As for the Mi 10S, it’s a Chinese exclusive device, and hence, there won’t be a global release for the current build.
The device is getting a stable MIUI 13.0.1.0 SGACNXM and weighs 4.4GB. It comes with all the expected features – MiSans Font, new wallpapers, optimized app fluency, improved security, and others. Interestingly, the update has bumped the Android OS to V12, although you might not notice the changes because of MIUI. However, you’ll notice a revamped privacy dashboard and notification panel if you select ‘Android’ under settings.
Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Mi 10S Android 12-based MIUI 13 update is a limited release. It’s currently seeding for selected users pending the preview outcome. Hopefully, the update will arrive for the public in the coming days.
