Xiaomi is about to introduce a new 5G-capable phone, possibly the Mi 10T. The device is expected for official unveiling this month, which the company confirmed when it released an official teaser of the product some days ago.
The news was shared on the Xiaomi Global Twitter page, which says “We’re going to launch a new 5G smartphone this September and it will start from €2xx!”, the company announced in a post on its global page. “As a new member of our #Mi10Series, it will be the first to feature an upcoming brand-new Qualcomm Snapdragon 7-Series Mobile 5G platform. Amazing value for money to allow #5GForEveryone.”
From the post on Twitter, we were able to gather some useful information about the Xiaomi Mi 10T smartphone. The device will be available on global channels and will start at under €300. Rather confusing is the processor, which Xiaomi said will be a brand new Qualcomm Snapdragon 7-series SoC.
Qualcomm recently announced the Snapdragon 732G SoC, but it doesn’t support 5G connectivity. It’s only the Snapdragon 768G that has the capabilities but the chip is what currently runs the Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition, meaning the SoC is not entirely new. Perhaps, the company wants to introduce the device as Xiaomi Mi 10T on the global market. Typical of Xiaomi, it won’t be surprising to see a rebranded Redmi phone.
Aside from the affordable price tag and the use of 5G-enabled SoC, the device is expected to feature a Quad-camera arrangement, a 6.9-inch display, and up to 4500mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. Of course, it will run MIUI 12 outside-of-the-box based on Android 10.
We hope to learn more about the device in the coming days since the launch is almost around the corner. The company will surely release more teasers, which will tell us the launch date and other details of the phone.
