There’s no doubt that Xiaomi will be among the first few OEMs to start seeding the stable Android 12. Google announced a couple of weeks ago its next iteration of Android OS has reached platform stability, meaning there would be no changes moving forward. They’ve since alerted developers to start testing their app ahead of the stable release. The stable Android 12 update will debut with Google Pixel 6 series phone, although the launch date is still in the dark. Nevertheless, we won’t wait until then to see what the update will bring to Xiaomi phones. According to recent reports, the first Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra / Pro Android 12 update is now available for beta testers.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra and Pro have the same development. That means you can side-load the build onto your global Mi 11 Ultra, but you’ve to choose between two language options – Chinese and English. The only way to do that would be to flash the build via TWRP Recovery, but you shouldn’t attempt that if you haven’t done something like that before. We won’t be responsible for any damage flashing the Mi 11 Ultra / Pro Android 12 update might cause. However, the details below might be important if you wish to continue.
Xiaomi is rolling out the update with a recent closed beta build in China. It has a version number – MIUI 12.5 V21.8.29. The build brings features of Android 12 and bumps the Android security patch level to September 2021 to increase system security and stability. It has also improved system fluency and addressed some problems, as usual with all MIUI updates.
As for when the update will arrive on the stable channel, that will take some months. Meanwhile, you can stay updated via our tracker page to know when the update becomes available for everyone.
