It’s no news that Google Android 12 is about to start rolling out. The latest iteration of Android OS has been in testing for months and has entered a stable beta phase in the past few weeks. If the past rollout schedule is anything to go by, the stable Android 12 update will start rolling out this month or early September. It will first arrive on Google Pixel phones but expect OEMs like Xiaomi to follow almost immediately. And according to a recent report, Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra/Pro, Mi 11, Redmi K40 Pro/Plus Android 12 rollout will be the first of the bunch.
There are only a few phones left to upgrade to Android 11 before Xiaomi will finalize the current rollout. But even at that, they’ve had their eye set on Android 12 since Beta 1 was released. A couple of Xiaomi phones have been testing the build internally, perhaps, adopting some of its apps to the upcoming Android OS. However, the build could be moving to closed beta testers, according to a recent report.
The Mi 11 Ultra/ Pro, Mi 11, Redmi K40 Pro/Plus Android 12 rollout could start soon if the report is legit. We are not surprised about the device mentioned, given that they’re premium phones. They’re always in the first batch of major rollouts, and since most of them are China exclusive, the rollout will start from that region. As usual, closed beta testers will receive the build for preview, and it will last for weeks before it starts rolling out to stable ROM users.
Of course, other Xiaomi phones will get that update, but given the previous rollout, it will take months. Perhaps, before the update will arrive on global models. However, given the swift Android 11 rollout, at least to premium phones, we anticipate the same with Android 12.
