This year’s Xiaomi premium phone is said to be the company’s first-ever true flagship device. Aside from the price tag, the features as well lived up the hype. The device has become popular and building on that, the company has started working on the successor, supposedly the Xiaomi Mi 11.
However, it’s still unclear if the Chinese OEM will continue with its model-numbering system or change to a new one, which might see the device answer Xiaomi Mi 20. Thus far, it’s only a few details of the device that has been shared on the internet. According to a notable Chinese leaker, Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi is currently working on a Snapdragon 875-powered device.
The company is targeting Q1 2021 as the official launch time frame, just before the Chinese Spring Festival. The festival is the Chinese New Year and usually starts on February 12. With that said, we might see the Xiaomi Mi 11 make its official debut before that time. Besides, Xiaomi premium phones usually debut around that time, and long may it continue.
Recently, Xiaomi announced that its third-generation under-screen camera technology is ready for Mass production. The first device to sport the tech is expected to arrive next year, and it’s likely to debut with the Mi 11. We have seen the under-screen camera in full glory when Xiaomi showed it off using a special edition of the Mi 10 Ultra. We expect Xiaomi Mi 11 to feature the tech.
Unfortunately, that’s all we know about the Snapdragon-875 powered Xiaomi phone. Also, expect a premium-priced phone yet again, at least, on the global market. Of course, the specs will surely justify the price, like always.
And since the launch is still months away, we’ll learn about the other features of the phone in the coming weeks. We’ll always update this space once we get additional information.
