Xiaomi Android One program might be suspended, but it hasn’t in any way affected the support of their Android One phones. They have always delivered monthly security patches and on time. And as usual, the Mi A2 started receiving the December security patch update a few days ago, which has now arrived for the Mi A2 Lite. We were expecting the same for the Mi A3, but Xiaomi decided to roll out the Android 11 update instead.
According to a report from users of the popular Xiaomi Android one device, Xiaomi has now released the Mi A3 Android 11 update. The update seems to be arriving for the EU users in a 1.40GB package. It comes along with the Android 11 features; see the changelog below.
Xiaomi Mi A3 Android 11 update Changelog
- Improved notification shade
- Conversation bubbles
- Better permission management
- Improved DND mode
The December security patch also came along with the update, although it’s not on the changelog. You’d notice other changes and system optimization. Meanwhile, considering the track records of Xiaomi Android One updates, which haven’t been that good, we suggest you wait for additional feedback before downloading the Xiaomi Mi A3 Android 11 update.
Feedback
The Xiaomi Mi A3 Android 11 update, as expected, is leaving the device dead. After installing the update, on rebooting, it stucks on Mi Logo and then goes off. It won’t turn on again and doesn’t even detect the charger. Please, don’t install, and if you have already downloaded, don’t reboot. If you do, you will brick your device.
