Xiaomi debuted its latest iteration of MIUI – MIUI 13 on December 28 in China, alongside the Xiaomi 12 series phones. The trio that launched runs the ROM, which is based on Android 12 outside of the box. It has since been released to a handful of devices Globally. And going by the recent unveiling in India, those in that region will soon get the update. That’s because Xiaomi has officially presented MIUI 13 in India, with the rollout expected to start in the coming days.
Indian users have been patiently waiting for the MIUI 13 rollout, but Xiaomi plans to unveil its latest iteration in that region before pushing it to eligible users. The company has just officially introduced MIUI 13 in India, meaning the rollout will commence shortly. Going by the official road map in that region, the update will start seeding in Q1 2022, and about ten Xiaomi and Redmi phones are expected to receive the update in that period.
Xiaomi MIUI 13 seems to focus on improving stability and performance. It didn’t present many features as we expected since Xiaomi claims to be focusing on improving stability to reduce the number of bugs reported after each update release. However, there have been a few additions – wallpapers, widgets, and sidebar (video toolbox). Also, the control center has been revamped to include Mi Smart Hub for seamless connection between all Xiaomi gadgets.
Unfortunately, some of the features that debuted with the Chinese version didn’t make it to the global and Indian versions. The new security features, Mi San Font, and others are missing, and hopefully, we get to see that in a subsequent release.
