Xiaomi Pad 6 series has been in the rumor mill for months, but the Tablets are now official. Launched in China yesterday, the Xiaomi Pad 5 successor brings some compelling specs, a new design, and an aggressive price tag.
We all expected the Xiaomi Pad 6 last year, given that the Pad 5 units arrived in 2021. Of course, that didn’t happen, instead, the company released a refreshed version of the Pad 5. However, the wait was worth it as the Xiaomi Pad 6 series debuts with fascinating specs and a new design.
Both Tablets have the same design language inspired by the Xiaomi 13. It’s made of glass (back and front) with aluminum coming into the frame. The square camera bump sits at the left side of the rear panel, housing a dual camera lens.
Meanwhile, only the Pro model has a dual sensor (50MP + 2MP) and a new 20MP front-facing camera with auto-tracking. The vanilla Pad 6 features a rear 13MP shooter and an 8MP front camera sensor.
The front panel houses an 11-inch IPS panel with 2.8K resolution, up to 144Hz refresh rate, 16:20 aspect ratio, and thick bezels. It’s the Pro model that refreshes at 144hz while the Pad 6 is capped at 120Hz.
Under the hood, we get Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 on the Pro model while Snapdragon 870 powers the Pad 6. Both run Android 13 on top of MIUI 14 outside the box, making them eligible for Android 14 and 15.
During the launch, a new Keyboard and a second-gen smart pen made their debut. Interestingly, the former can perform fascinating functions to improve your experience. The Keyboard is equipped with gestures to enhance your productivity with the tablets.
