Some Xiaomi phone users are seeing their devices crash while playing songs on Spotify. The issue doesn’t seem exclusive to a particular HyperOS or MIUI build, given that some Pixel phone users also have the problem. It’s probably an issue with the recent Spotify update, which started rolling out a few days ago.
A new Spotify app update started rolling out on July 2, which was when the issue of devices crashing when Playing music with the app first surfaced. It was Pixel phone users who reported the bug, and it’s now obvious the problem is from Spotify.
According to reports, playing songs using the Spotify app sends your device to a boot loop. We understand Xiaomi phone users are having the same problem, where the device crashes when they open the app. If you are having the same experience, the best way to avoid your device crashing is to stop using the Spotify app until a new update is released.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi said they are analyzing the issue, and we believe a new update from Spotify is what should address the bug. Since the problem started a few days ago, you can check for a new Spotify update on the Play Store. If you must use the app, you can download and order the version and install it.
