Xiaomi is one of the few smartphone companies that releases a new OS update after Google’s official release. The tech company will debut Android 16 in the coming weeks, and there have been plans to release it to eligible Xiaomi phones after that. We have seen a public beta build seeded for eligible devices, and as expected, more phones are joining the preview.

A few weeks ago, Xiaomi announced the public preview of the Android 16-based HyperOS build. It was limited to two phones – Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 14T Pro. The duo is expected to get the upgrade first, but the Redmi K80 and POCO F7 will be getting it just after. We understand Xiaomi has launched a stable beta build for the duo, albeit they are the same phone but for different regions.
Details of the New Xiaomi phones testing the Android 16-based HyperOS build
Xiaomi is on track to break its record by releasing the upcoming Android OS before October. The company released Android 15 with HyperOS 2 last year during the launch of the Xiaomi 15. While the successor is expected to debut at the same time, we expect a stable Android 16 to arrive before. Perhaps some phones will receive it with HyperOS 2.2, while others will upgrade with HyperOS 3.
Meanwhile, Redmi K80 and POCO F7 Pro are the same phone but for different regions. Hence, the build numbers are different, and some of the features. According to the report, a new build with version number OS2.0.250510.1.WOKMIXM.PRE, which is for the POCO F7 Pro, is being tested by developers. The Chinese version has a build number OS2.0.250510.1.WOKCNXM.PRE. Both are still betas, meaning it’s not yet available to the public.
We expect more phones to join the public beta preview in the coming weeks, especially the POCO F7 Pro for global users. Meanwhile, you can check the source link for other Xiaomi phones testing the Android 16-based HyperOS build.
