Xiaomi has a bunch of smartphones on its stables ranging from entry-level to premium Android phones. The Chinese company offers these devices in different brands, which include Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO. And because POCO is believed to be an independent brand, we will focus on Redmi and Xiaomi phones that have stopped receiving updates in this post.
Typical of Xiaomi, a new phone is released monthly, but the company always finds a way to support these phones. The company promises at least two years of support, during which two Android OS updates will be released for the device. Of course, it depends as we have seen few phones get only a single OS upgrade.
Perhaps, entry-level phones are limited to two years of support with One OS upgrade, while mid-range phones often get two Android OS and two years of support. The same for the premium phones, but three years of security support.
Still not sure where your current device falls under, we have made a list of Xiaomi phones that have stopped receiving updates. If your phone is on the list and you value security patch updates, it might be time to switch to a new device.

Update: April 26, 2024
Xiaomi has added a couple of phones to the EOL list. These include the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 4G and Xiaomi Mix Fold. It means the duo won’t be getting new updates, which officially rules them out of getting the HyperOS update. Check out the details here and what to do next.
Update: March 06, 2024
It has been long since we updated this list and many Xiaomi phones have been added to the list. The Redmi Note 9 and Redmi 9 series are all on the list while Mi 10 series phones have stopped receiving updates. These Xiaomi phones will not get the all-new HyperOS upgrade, and you can heck if your device is included in the table above.
Update: May 27, 2023
The latest Xiaomi phone to stop receiving update is the Mi Note 10 Lite. Moving forward, the device will not get security updates or a new MIUI version. However, the company can release an update if a vulnerability is discovered to address it. But you can continue getting updates by switching to a custom ROM.
