While the Redmi Note 13 series phones are yet to debut globally, Xiaomi has quietly released the Xiaomi Redmi 13C. The device has a similar design to the Redmi Note 13 series, but you will notice the difference once you glance at the front.
It’s not surprising to see the Redmi 13C go on sale before the Redmi Note 13 series globally. The Redmi C series is popular among Xiaomi enthusiasts on the international market, and we expect more sales compared to the predecessor.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 13C in Nigeria. The device features a 6.74-inch 1600 x 720 IPS LCD panel that refreshes up to 90Hz. It supports up to 600 nits brightness under the lights, Reading Mode, DC dimming, and TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification. The panel uses Corning Gorilla Glass for protection against scratches and mild falls.
Under the hood is the MediaTek Helio G85 Octa-Core processor. It features up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. Interestingly, the storage is expandable with MicroSD up to 1TB. Meanwhile, the SoC is built on a 12nm process with Cortex-A75 cores running at 2.0GHz and Cortex-A55 @ 1.8GHz, while the GPU is Mali-G52 MC2.
Around the back, there’s a square camera island. It houses a dual camera of a primary 50MP sensor and a 2MP macro shooter. The primary shooter has a 5P lens and f/1.8 aperture. It can shoot 1080p@30fps and 720@30fps videos. There’s a single 8MP front camera for video calls and selfies.
Power is drawn from a 5000mAh battery that supports 18W wired charging. Meanwhile, the device comes with a 10W power adapter in the box. It’s a USB-C port. Outside of the box, the device runs Android 13 based on MIUI 14, and hopefully, Xiaomi will upgrade the device to Android 14 soon.
Other features of Redmi 13C include a 3.5mm headphone jack, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, AI face unlock, a proximity sensor, and an Accelerometer.
