In January, Xiaomi announced the Redmi Note 7 with a 48MP rear camera module, and we expect the successor, Redmi Note 8 to come with the newly announced Samsung GW1 64MP sensor. The device will be coming very soon according to Lin Bin, Xiaomi President, who promised the company will be among the first people to unveil a smartphone with a 64MP camera.
The camera module features a 1/1.7 huge CMOS image sensor, 0.8um pixel. It’ll be 38% brighter than the 48MP sensor present in Redmi Note 7 Pro and will support up to 9248 x 6936 resolution, which will allow the printing of 3.26m posters.
Meanwhile, the sensor like the 48MP uses 1.6um 4-in-1 pixel technology for improved low-light shots. The ISOCELL Plus technology delivers higher color fidelity along with up to 15% enhancement in light sensitivity. Also, the Smart ISO will enhance Signal Noise Ratio (SNR), which optimizes shot on high ISO imaging, while the Hybrid 3D HDR will provide richer hues.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, which is likely the 64MP camera phone Xiaomi talked about will likely debut between October and December. But for now, we can’t be able to say much about the device but we hope to see move details in the coming weeks.
