Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 specs
The Redmi Note 9 follows the stylish, symmetrical design introduced with the Note 7 series. The company even spiced things up with the color options – Forest Green, Polar White, and Midnight Grey.
At the back is just the square camera plate which has the dual-LED flash and the fingerprint scanner placed just below it. Around the front is a 6.53-inch panel surrounded by a thin bezel, with a notch for the selfie snapper. The volume rocker and power button comes off the frame while the speaker grills, USB port, and headphone jack sit at their usual position.

The Redmi Note 9 sports a 6.53-inch IPS DotDisplay of 1080p resolution. It’s a FullHD+ panel with support for 450nits of brightness, 84% NTSC color gamut, and 1500:1 contrast ratio. The screen supports HDR, and as such, will deliver colorful details, especially on streaming networks. For maximum protection, the display sits under a Corning Gorilla Glass 5, which is also resistant to scratch.

The Redmi Note 8 Pro with Helio G90T SoC has been topping the list of most powerful mid-range in AnTuTu Benchmark for some time now. And to continue the dominance, the Redmi Note 9 is equipped with a Mediatek G85 Octa-Core. From the Benchmark released by Xiaomi during the unveiling, there’s a 21% performance enhancement from the predecessor.
The processor is paired with either 3GB or 4GB RAM and 64 or 128GB ROM respectively. There’s also a memory expansion in case you start needing more. Outside-of-the-box, you get MIUI 11 on top Android 10.

The camera department has a Quad arrangement, with a primary 48MP snapper. It’s flanked by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 2MP macro with Autofocus, and 2MP depth sensor. On the front panel, secured inside a punch hole is a 13MP selfie snapper with face unlock support.
There’s sure an improvement from the predecessor. The primary snapper promises detailed photos regardless of the time of the day. Also, the photo and video processing time are a lot faster and better with the improved processor.

With a massive 5020mAh battery, the Redmi Note 9 will deliver a 2-day power in a single charge. It supports 18W fast charging to deliver a fully charged phone in less than 120 minutes. Surprisingly, the package comes with a 22.5W charging adapter instead, and that will improve the charging speed even more.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 price starts at $199 for the base 4/64GB up to $249 for the 4/128GB memory variant. You will be able to choose from Grey, White, and Green colors from Mid-May.
