Xiaomi Redmi Pad 2 will be succeeding the Xiaomi Redmi Pad and the tech piece will be an upgrade – at least that’s what the specs in paper say. That said, no doubt that Xiaomi Redmi Pad 2 will be good, to say the least since it’s powered by the Snapdragon 680 chipset.
Other features of the Xiaomi Redmi Pad 2
The Redmi Pad 2, which was previously certified by the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), has now received certification for sale in the United States from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) with the model number 23073RPBFL. Although the model number is slightly different from the EEC-approved version, this certification suggests that Xiaomi plans to launch the tablet globally.
The FCC’s release of preliminary certification paperwork aligns with the details previously revealed by Kacper Skrzypek, which included the use of a Snapdragon 680 CPU in the Redmi Pad 2. According to the FCC filing, Xiaomi has developed the Redmi Pad 2 in three memory configurations, starting with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
While it remains uncertain if Xiaomi will offer all memory types in every market, the company typically simplifies its selection outside of China. For instance, in the UK, Xiaomi exclusively sells the Redmi Pad with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
The FCC documentation also indicates that the Redmi Pad 2 supports Wi-Fi 5 and runs MIUI 14, most likely based on Android 13. With the tablet gaining additional certifications, it suggests that Xiaomi will soon introduce the Redmi Pad 2. However, Xiaomi has not yet provided any public hints about a successor to the Redmi Pad.
