Following many updates rolling out on different Wear OS lately, talking about the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 update among others, it seems YouTube Music is joining in on the update party as it gets Wi-Fi and LTE streaming on Wear OS.
This new tweak allows for users to stream songs over data/cellular instead of having to download the songs, albums or even playlists ahead of time. Although this Wi-Fi and LTE streaming on Wear OS was first previewed in February this year on the Galaxy Watch 4, it’s now available.
By enabling this feature on the Wear OS, it is going to ensure that you get to listen to your favourite playlist wherever you go, even when you’re not with your smartphone, that is, you’ll be able to browse in the app and start playback immediately without any paired device.
Sadly, cellular streaming isn’t available on iOS, the users can just get an LTE plan from their service providers to enjoy this amazing feature. Furthermore, note that the downloading and Wi-Fi and LTE streaming on Wear OS is only available for users on YouTube Music premium.
Wi-Fi and LTE streaming on Wear OS, what else was rolled out to wearable?
Youtube had said that this Wi-Fi and LTE streaming on Wear OS will begin rollout this week. While the feature hasn’t started rolling out, The Wi-Fi and LTE streaming on Wear OS is just one of the two tweaks that were seeded recently in wearables. Adding to the streaming support, YouTube Music has gotten a recently played tile.
Recently played tile arrives on Galaxy watch 4 with an easy and smooth experience on the wearable. Tapping will enable playback while tapping on the browser will open the app. Furthermore, if a song is actively playing on Youtube music, the Browse icon is removed showing the song and tapping it moves you to the Now Playing page. We still expect this in the just debuted Pixel watch and other wearables in the long run
