Before we proceed, you might like to know why some Xiaomi phones don’t have Google Play services. It is because Xiaomi is a Chinese company and follows the government regulation to block access to Google Play services and Google Play store. However, most Global versions of Xiaomi devices come with Google play services. Most times, it’s actually, the Chinese version with Global ROM flashed on them, which is another reason why you should learn how to install Google Play services on Xiaomi phones, so you can always demand that your phones should be shipped sealed.
Install Google Play services on Xiaomi phones
First, you need to enable installation from an unknown source on your Xiaomi phone. You do that from Settings> passwords and security> privacy> install unknown apps> click on Not allowed> allow from this source – you should enable it. Steps on how to install Google Play services on Xiaomi phones
- Open the Xiaomi GetApps and search for Google on the search bar. It should appear on top of the list, now click on the app to download it.
- After the Download, you will see Google Account Manager, Google Play services, Google Calendar sync, Google Contact sync, you will need to tap on each one after the other to install it.
- You should log into your Google Play Store with your Google account to finish the set up after the downloading.

You can first open Google Contact Sync. You should turn on Autostart, set the battery saver to “No Restriction” You must check if you restricted internet access, it should be enabled and also check other permission that should be on. From the Installed app, move to Google play services and Enable all the required permission relating to Contact and Calendar. You should do this for the app to run smoothly on your Xiaomi phone.
