Xiaomi is known for pricing its smartphone fairly, and they now have independent sub-brands to make the price even more affordable. The POCO brand released its first-ever phone in 2018, named POCO F1, and waited till early this year to debut the POCO X2. Meanwhile, the POCO X2 is not the successor of POCO F1, as a device likely to be POCO F2 obtains an EEC certification.
The early report claims the Redmi K30 Pro will be rebranded as POCO F2, but the general manager of the POCO brand in India quickly debunk the rumor. According to C Manmohan, the device will be launching for the first time with its specifications.
The clarification further shows the POCO device that recently got EEC certification could be the new POCO F2. From the database, the phone has a model number M2004J11G.
A recent rumor has it that POCO F2 will follow the path of its predecessor, which debuted with Snapdragon 845 and was sold at $275. The Snapdragon 865 powered phone will be the most affordable in 2020.
Furthermore, the device is speculated to continue the strategy of high performance and flagship specifications. It also agrees to the device debuting as the most affordable Snapdragon 865 powered phone.
Again, the Indian POCO general manager gave a clue about the pricing when he said the device will sell above INR 20,000 ($262). However, the price might go up after the Goods and service tax (GST) was increased to 18% in India.
Unfortunately, we cant confirm the specs for now, but we hope to do so in the coming weeks. However, the Snapdragon 865 Chipset is certain, and we might see a Quad camera arrangement, maybe a 64MP snapper. Also, we may see an LCD panel with a punch hole camera and maybe the first time an in-display fingerprint scanner will work on LCD screen.
