Xiaomi Pocophone F1 is the first device to debut from the new POCO flagship line by Xiaomi. It’s targeted at providing cost-efficient premium smartphones like the OnePlus… Pocophone F1 sports 6.18-inch FHD+ notch display, powered by most powerful Qualcomm chipset – Snapdragon 845 and paired with light-speed LPDDR4x 8GB RAM. The device is equipped with LiquidCool technology to always maintain a peak performance. 

The camera features regular 12MP + 5MP dual rear camera arrangement integrated with AI for better performance. Sensor onboard the main shooter is Sony® IMX363, while on the front panel is a 20MP high-res camera. Xiaomi Pocophone F1 has dual security unlock system, rear mounted identification scanner and a facial ID which works even at night.

The device out of the box will run MIUI 9.6 (POCO customized) on top Android 8.1 (Oreo). Packed inside the slim body is a massive 4000mAh non-removable battery that supports fast battery charging 9V/2A (Quick charge 3.0) through Type-C USB cable.

Display

POCO F1 features 6.18-inch FHD+ notch display of 1080 x 2246p resolution on board 402PPI. It has an insane 500nits brightness capacity to ensure high quality and seamless images. The display is well protected with Corning Gorilla Glass for maximum durability and protection against mild falls.

Performance

On the helm of affairs is the most powerful Qualcomm chipset yet – Snapdragon 845 Octa-core processor. It was the same chip that featured in OnePlus 6, Galaxy S9, Galaxy Note 9 and almost all the flagship phones of the year. The Octa-core processor has it’s highest kryo cores clocking at 2.8GHz, paired with light speed 8GB LPDDR4x RAM for seamless operation. To maintain peak performance, there is a LiquidCool to cool down the processor and to maintain maximum speed. Out of the box, Xiaomi Pocophone F1 will run MIUI 9.6 (POCO customized) based on Android OS 8.1 (Oreo).

Storage

Xiaomi Pocophone F1 comes in a multiple memory configuration ranging from 64GB to 256GB. It’s also compatible with micro SD card and is equipped with a hybrid slot which can be used to achieve additional 256GB memory. The storage is based on UFS 2.1 storage and depending on the memory configuration price varies.

Camera

Onboard the camera is a dual 12MP (Sony® IMX363) + 5MP sub sensor for depth effect, while on the front panel is 20MP selfie snapper. The main camera has a massive 1.4um pixel which results in better low-light photography because of the more light per pixel. While the Sony® IMX363 sensor is the one that featured in Mi 8 and Mi Mix 2s, it was the same sensor that featured in Google Pixel 2 of last year.

On the main camera is a dual-pixel autofocus to focus on over 12million focus point at a time, which is almost 30x to what can be achieved with traditional PDAF. With the help of AI, POCO F1 will be able to detect what you’re trying to capture and then optimize it for the best result.

Coming to the selfie camera, there is a 20MP single selfie snapper with AI capabilities. The sensor can detect up to more 20 scenes and also optimize the selfie background for a breathtaking shot. It also has a backlit detection to detect backlit and then optimize your shots for clearer details.

Security

Facial ID or Fingerprint identification scanner? The Xiaomi Pocophone F1 comes fully equipped with both features for flexible and maximum smartphone security. The facial ID makes use of an infrared lens to scan your face while infrared lighting makes it functional in a dark situation. It also comes with a fingerprint identification scanner, so depending on a user preference there is always an option to switch.

Battery

Debuted along the Pocophone F1 to improve the battery performance is power efficient Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with LiquidCool. For the easy refill, there is Qualcomm Quick charge 3.0 fast charging technology. Meanwhile, the device features a massive 4000mAh battery that charges with Type-C USB cable.
