According to reports, the Xiaomi MIUI 12 release will happen soon. The next Xiaomi Android custom skin has been in the rumor mill for quite some time now, and have intensified in the last few weeks after the suspension of MIUI 11.
Early rumors revealed a long list of Xiaomi phones that will get the next MIUI interface. We have also seen some alleged features of the MIUI 12 update. However, we know that the first Beta release of new MIUI update happens between May and June, but there seems to be a change as a new report emerges.
From a screenshot seen on Weibo, it shows a trace of Xiaomi MIUI 12 update and a reminder of a special MIUI event, with 11 days away from the registration to commence. Therefore, since Xiaomi already stopped the development of MIUI 11, the upcoming MIUI event is most likely to focus on Xiaomi MIUI 12.
If this report is true, then the Xiaomi MIUI 12 release will likely start happening at the tail of April. Of course, the Beta phase is what we will be looking at, which will probably last for 2-4 months. After the Beta phase, the stable version will first roll out in China, after which the Global version will start receiving the update.
Meanwhile, from early reports, MIUI 12 will optimize the display of blank and loading pages. There will be a new loading icon, while the status bar and system font will be unified.
We have also seen what looks like the earlier features of the MIUI 12. New Navigation bars and gestures, perfect Dark mode, new notification box mechanism, advertising service optimization, enhanced privacy Management and others.

A leak also shows that Xiaomi will be making changes to its refresh rate, focus mode, screen time, and advanced setting. Moreover, the new system design looks darker, which confirms the early rumors of an enhanced dark mode feature.
