The latest Redmi Note 5 Stable update remains that which was rolled out four months ago, that arrived with MIUI 11.0.3.0. The update did leave some bug that affected using a third-party launcher, but a fix doesn’t look to be coming soon. Considering that Xiaomi has stopped the development of MIUI 11 and is now focusing on the MIUI 12, the next update that will be arriving on the Redmi Note 5 is likely the MIUI 12.
Xiaomi announced the Redmi Note 5 (Redmi 5 Plus) in December 2017 and was introduced Globally in February 2018. It received maximum support, just like the company is supporting the latest devices in the Note series. However, the support has dwindled in the last few months, with the device Android Security patch still in October 2019.
Nevertheless, it’s more or less what one should expect from a device that was launched about 28 months ago. Also, since the company now has a slew of phones in its stables, it will be difficult to maintain maximum support to the older device as regards to updates. However, the company has added a new phone to the Note series line up. The device has received commendable support this past week, so if you want to continue getting timely updates, it’s time to check out the new Redmi Note 9s.
Needless to say that the latest Redmi Note 5 stable update remains the MIUI 11.0.3.0 that arrived months ago. The next update that will be coming to the phone seems to be the new Xiaomi MIUI 12 update. However, don’t expect the update to come soon as Note 5 is among the last wave of phones to receive the update.
