Xiaomi sub-brand has introduced a new smartphone series – Redmi X. The company debuted three devices – Redmi 10X 5G, 10X Pro 5G, and Redmi 10X 4G, which is a rebranded Note 9, to mark the start of a new beginning. The Xiaomi Redmi 10X series 5G features a 6.57-inch AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch for the 16MP selfie camera on the 10X 5G while the Pro model gets a 20MP snapper.

The panel supports a 120Hz sampling rate and a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It features an optical in-display fingerprint scanner as well, thanks to the AMOLED display supplied by Samsung.

Propelling the device is the Mediatek Dimensity 820 Octa-Core processor. The SoC has the performance cores clocked at 2.6H and paired with up to 8GB RAM for seamless multitasking. Outside-of-the-box, Redmi 10X series runs MIUI 12 based on Android 10, while the battery capacity is capped at 4,520mAh. However, the charging speed is different, on the regular variant, the maximum charging speed is 22.5W and 30W on the Pro variant.

Around the back is a square shape bump, which houses the Quad-camera arrangement. Both phones have a primary 48MP snapper, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, while the Pro model has an 8MP telephoto lens that supports 3x optical zoom, 5x hybrid zoom, 30x digital zoom, and OIS. There’s a 5MP macro camera lens for taking close up shot.

Meanwhile, the Redmi 10X 4G sports a 6.53-inch FullHD+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection against mild fall and scratch. It’s powered by Mediatek Helio G80 Octa-Core processor with the performance cores clocked at 2GHz and paired with up to 6GB RAM.

The camera is a quad arrangement with a primary 48MP shooter flanked by 8MP ultra-wide-angle, 2MP depth, and 2MP Macro shooter, while at the front notch is a 13MP selfie snapper.

The battery capacity is 5020mAh and supports 18W fast charging. It runs Android 10 outside-of-the-box but based on MIUI 11. All the Redmi 10X series come with an IP53 rating, which means they’re resistant to splash. The device keeps the 3.5mm headphone jack while only the Pro variant supports NFC.
