Xiaomi has officially revealed the complete features of Xiaomi MIUI 12 – the company’s next-generation User Interface based on Android OS. It brings a whole new experience with the new set of animation, aesthetic, privacy function, Dark mode 2.0, and others. The new UI is classy and delivers a seamless experience, thanks to Xiaomi’s MiRender Engine, Folme Animation engine, and MAML illustration Engine.
Xiaomi MIUI 12 has also enhanced user interaction by visualizing every data, information, and status. The official list of Xiaomi phones to receive this update has been announced as well as the Closed Beta release for registered users. While the closed beta group is receiving the update, the open beta rollout will start arriving from May 8TH.

Live wallpapers and AOD
This particular feature of Xiaomi MIUI 12 is called ” Super Wallpapers” Xiaomi has added lots of live wallpapers and AOD inspired by the landscape of the Earth, the Moon, and Mars. When the dark mode is enabled, the wallpaper choosing by you will enter night time, thereby enhancing your visual experience.
Dynamic weather and New Animation
Another interesting features of Xiaomi MIUI 12. The company has integrated real-time natural and vital climatic elements into the design of the system’s weather app. This new feature allows you to feel the weather change at your fingertips – cloudy weather, rain, and snow.
Also, the animation of the app icon gets a revamped look. The icons will now generate real-time feedback based on your gestures. According to Xiaomi, changes in gesture direction and speed will make application icons react differently. Now, you can take full control of your personal information. Xiaomi MIUI 12 helps you manage your privacy using ultimate data security offered by Flare, Barbed Wire, and Mask system function.
The Glare function marks out sensitive app activities to the users, while all sensitive behavior of the application is faithfully decided and presented to the user. It also gives you a clear reminder when sensitive System capabilities are used.
The Barbed Wire function enables users to delete sensitive information when sharing documents, while the Mask privacy function gives the rogue app blank information to protect data for five permission – contact list, calendar, and call records.
Multi-window and picture-in-picture
The Xiaomi MIUI 12 allows you to stay productive even when you are playing games or watching a movie. There’s a floating chat window for full-screen apps such as games and video players. Now, when you pull down the application suspension notification, it transforms into a quick small window. You can drag the window to the side and proceed with interacting with other apps.
AI calls
Now your Xiao AI voice assistance can help you answer calls, taking it response from carefully generated AI responses. You can also customize the language in which you want your calls to be answered. Unfortunately, the Xiao AI voice assistance remains in China for now, and we don’t know if this particular AI calls in cooperation with Xunfei hearing will be making it out of China.
Dark mode 2.0
We love this particular feature of Xiaomi MIUI 12 because it will bring the wide-dark mode feature to probably all Xiaomi phones. The Dark Mode 2.0 adds wallpaper dimming and will work in tandem with the time of the day and gradually dim the wallpaper at night. In MIUI 12, when dark mode is enabled, it will automatically adjust the weight and boldness of the fonts to reduce glare.
