Timely updates remain the edge phones on Android One programs have over those running custom ROM. And even after it has been alleged that Xiaomi has abandoned the program, the updates haven’t stopped coming. Perhaps, there should be a timeframe before the supports finally stop, just like the days of Windows and Blackberry OS.
The Mi A2 Lite is part of the Android One program and will stop receiving any form of support when the time comes. In the meantime, the July security patch update for Mi A2 Lite has just been released. It’s coming late this time, considering how fast the device has received security patch updates in the past. Nevertheless, it’s better late than never.
The update has a version number, “V11.0.9.0 QDLMIXM”, and weighs in at 180MB. It’s aimed at the global users and will progressively arrive on all eligible units in the coming days. And aside from bumping the Android security patch to July, optimizing the system performance, no bugs were fixed. Also, there hasn’t been an addition of a new bug, and hence, the update is safe.
In order not to have the update pulled, you should get on it once you get a prompt notification for the July security patch update for Mi A2 Lite. We are also going to update this post, once we get the link to the recovery ROM, so you can download manually and then flash via Recovery.
Meanwhile, if you have downloaded the update, we would like to know your experience so far. Did the update fix any underlying bug, or did it introduce a new one? Also, the device performance did it improve after the latest build, or did it get worse. We would like to know all about that via the comment section.
