After a long wait and series of delays, the Redmi Note 8 started receiving the stable MIUI 12 update globally a couple of days ago. The same update has also been pushed to Note 7, and since the EEA and Global users have both received the update, next-in-line are Indians.
That said, the Indian stable MIUI 12 update for the Redmi Note 8 and Note 7/7S is yet to start seeding, but according to a new report, the update is ready. It’s still unclear when the update will start seeding, but we might be in for another surprise, just like we have witnessed in the last couple of days now.
According to Xiaomiui, the supposed MIUI 12 build for the Indian version of the Redmi Note 8, MIUI 12.0.1.0 QCOINXM, is ready this morning. The Redmi Note 7, which has a build number, MIUI 12.0.1.0 QFGINXM, is ready as of October 28. Hence, the former is expected to receive the update before the Note 8, but the ETA remains unknown.
However, we expect to see the Indian stable MIUI 12 update for the Redmi Note 8 and Note 7/7S start arriving within 6 to 12 days from the date it was confirmed ready. And if that’s the case, then we would start seeing the update as from next week.
Nevertheless, we will still be on the lookout as the company is full of surprises these days. Also, since the update is ready, they might decide to start rolling it out, and if that happens, the beta testers are expected to receive the update at first.
