The Android 11 update has already arrived for a few Xiaomi phones as a stable build, while others that are eligible are currently testing the update. A couple of days ago, the Redmi K20/Mi 9T received MIUI 12 closed beta update, which brought Android 11 to the device. Now, according to a new report, three Xiaomi phones are currently testing Android 11 internally.
According to the MIUI updates tracker, the Xiaomi Mi 9, Mi 9 Pro, and Mi 9T Pro are testing Android 11 build. The build is still at the internal testing stage, which means only developers have access to it. However, if everything goes smoothly, it will be ready for open beta testing in the coming week. That’s when people participating in the MIUI 12 closed beta testing will be able to receive the update.
That said, there’s no doubt now that the Mi 9, Mi 9 Pro, and Mi 9T Pro are all going to receive the Android 11 build. However, it is still unclear when the update will be ready for stable users, besides beta testers are yet to receive the Android 11 build for the first time on those aforementioned devices. Hence, it’s going to be a long wait, but it will be worth it in the end.
We’ll sure be keeping tabs on the development and will report when developers finished testing Android 11 internally for those phones. And once that’s done, the next thing would be to start seeding out the update as a beta build to those participating.
Meanwhile, have you checked out the new MIUI China Mi Mover App V3.0.0. The app allows you to move your files swiftly from your old Xiaomi phone to a new one. If you’re running the Chinese ROM on your Xiaomi phone, you can down the app from here. You can as well try it out on global models, but we are not sure if it’s going to work.
