The wait for a direct successor to the POCO F1 might continue till next year. According to POCO Director in India, Anuj Sharma, and Manmohan, General manager, POCO India, the POCO F2 Pro isn’t a direct successor of the popular Pocophone F1, which is probably why the device didn’t launch in India. He confirmed that the company is currently working on a new POCO F series phone, but unfortunately, the executives didn’t give a time frame as to when we can expect this phone.
However, going by our previous report, the next Poco F series phone, supposedly the POCO F2, is likely to debut next year. The company will try to replicate the flagship budget pricing of the POCO F1, and for that reason, might need to wait till next year. It’s believed that costs of production and the price of equipments, which has been raised with the adoption of 5G, will come down. But this time, don’t expect an under $400 flagship killer smartphone as the executives confirmed it’s going to be difficult.
Nevertheless, we expect something affordable, but only if POCO follows the trend of 2018 when it released the Pocophone F1. The device tried to implement everything the user would need, leaving out those that seemed unnecessary to cut down the price. Well, that has been the company’s trademark, and we expect them to keep going in that route.
That said, we will keep tabs on the development and will update this space if we get any new information as regards the POCO F series phone. And since the phone is already in the works, it won’t be much time again until the specs start surfacing.
Meanwhile, it was during AMA (Ask Me Anything) session that POCO confirmed that they’re working on a new POCO F series phone. You can follow the source link and watch the full video.
