Xiaomi has started sending out a stable MIUI 12 update to more Redmi Note 8 users in China. The update only arrived for a few users a couple of days ago, but now, more people are getting it as the beta phase was successful. We expect the same for the global users, who are yet to receive the stable MIUI 12 update for the first time.
The Global Redmi Note 8 users have actually received the MIUI 12 update, but due to some bugs, it’s yet to get to everyone. According to Xiaomi, the second build that arrived for the device users — MIUI 12.0.2.0 QCOMIXM— is currently in testing. It started seeding just after the beta version of the MIUI 12.0.3.0 QCOCNXM, was released for the Chinese users, and now that more users are receiving the update, the global Redmi Note 8 users are going to follow suit.
Meanwhile, if you’re using the global Redmi Note 8 unit and currently on MIUI 11 version that’s not V11.0.11.0, you can flash the MIUI 12 ROM manually. What you need to do is go to this link and download the recovery ROM for the v12.0.1.0 QCOMIXM. To flash the ROM, make use of the recovery method, which we have detailed here.
Nevertheless, we expect Xiaomi to start sending the MIUI 12 update to Global Redmi Note 8 users very soon. You might opt for OTA, which we expect to arrive in the coming, but that’s up to you and also the version you’re currently running on your device.
We’ll also be on the lookout for more information, and once we get something useful, we are going to update this space.
