POCO C3 August security patch released as MIUI 12.5 looms. Download below..
Xiaomi has now gone global with the MIUI 12.5 rollout, having limited the update to the Chinese users. So far, only the flagship Xiaomi Mi 11 has received the update, but on limited rollout as always. However, it won’t be long till more devices get the update globally including, the POCO C3. Yes, the device is eligible for MIUI 12. 5 and Android 11 and might receive both updates simultaneously. Unfortunately, the current update sans both build, as Xiaomi prepares the device for the upgrade with the April security patch update.
The POCO C3 April security patch update has a version number – MIUI 12.0.9.0 QCRINXM – and weighs in at 308MB. It bumps the Android security level to April 2021 to increase system security and stability. The update made some changes in Xiaomi cloud, “Location info can be now reported automatically before the device is powered off.”
As usual, it’s a limited rollout, meaning only a handful of devices will receive the build for preview. And in the end, if everything is smooth, public rollout will commence, but you can install manually via the link below. But most times, it returns an error, but you’d be if you have an authorized Mi beta account. Of course, you can flash the ROM successfully with a compatible TWRP Recovery.

Xiaomi starts pushing a new stable update to the POCO C3 in India. Unfortunately, it sans both Android 11 and MIUI 12.5, but this could be the last build before those upgrades.
