It wouldn’t be long before Google starts pushing the stable version of its Android 12 to pixel phones. The build has reached the final stage of development, which is why Xiaomi released it to the Mi 11 a few days ago. We expect more phones to receive the Android 12 beta update in the coming weeks and months. And while we wait, it has now been surprisingly confirmed that Xiaomi Mi Note 10/Pro and Mi Note 10 Lite Android 12 update is on the cards.
We could understand the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite Android 12 update claims, but that of Mi Note 10 / Pro is surprising. The device debuted with Android 9.0 in late 2019. They have bagged two Android OS upgrades, which has been the maximum for Mi series phones. Even the flagship Xiaomi phones receive only two OS upgrades, except the company is making adjustments.
However, we doubt there’ll be any adjustments as the Xiaomi Mi 9 series that launched the same year with Android 9 wouldn’t be getting Android 12. Hence, we advise you to take the Mi Note 10/Pro Android 12 update claim with a pinch of salt. And for the Mi Note 10 Lite Android 12 update, that’s correct. The device is eligible for two Android OS upgrades, and having received only one in the past years, makes it eligible.
Unfortunately, the Redmi 10X 4G/Redmi Note 9 Android 12 update isn’t on the card. That was expected as mid-range phones get a single OS upgrade. The device recently received the Android 11 update with a stable MIUI 12.5. Unfortunately, that’s where the journey ends for the device, but Xiaomi will continue supporting it for the next few years. They will also push the MIUI 13 update to the device, which is likely to introduce features of the Android 12.
