The announcement of the Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5 doesn’t seem to affect the deployment of the current version. We thought Xiaomi would improve the rollout speed to focus on the next phase, which is expected from Q4 2021. Unless the company plans to update only a few selected phones, which is likely, given the features the build presents. It’s unknown at this time if the Redmi Note 9 Pro will get the update, but MIUI 12.5 build is confirmed for the device. The update is available in Europe, while the global Redmi Note 9 Pro MIUI 12.5 update might have a slight setback.
Xiaomi released the update in Europe a couple of days ago and given their deployment approach, it is supposed to be available for global users by now. That’s not the case, and it seems the rollout is delayed to fix an existing bug. This bug is affecting the Indian and global ROM. That makes sense why both regions haven’t started pushing the MIUI 12.5 update. It’s possible that the global Redmi Note 9 Pro MIUI 12.5 update has been delayed until the bug is fixed.
Before the MIUI 12.5 update started seeding in Europe, a stable MIUI 12 based update arrived in that region. The build was also sent to the global version, which left some devices stuck on Mi Logo and couldn’t turn on. According to the bug tracker report on the Mi community forum, the bug has been fixed, after a minor upgrade was pushed to few users. However, the ‘code’ is yet to be incorporated, and hopefully, that’ll be soon.
That said, we believe the delay in incorporating the said code is what’s delaying the release of the Global Redmi Note 9 Pro MIUI 12.5 update. Nevertheless, we expect the build to start seeding in the next few hours or days.
