Global version of MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition rollout schedule announced

There was never a doubt about the Global availability of MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition. Xiaomi made the official announcement on August 10 during the unveiling of Mi Mix 4, Mi Pad 5, and Mi Pad 5 Pro. The company has an event scheduled on September 15, which will see the Mi Pad 5 released into the global market. We expect the company to present a Global version of MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition, but there might not need again.

The company has not only confirmed the global availability of Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5 but the rollout schedule has also been announced. Unfortunately, that’s contrary to our previous post that suggested the update might arrive on global handsets next month. However, it’s not entirely off as Xiaomi always finds themselves working ahead of schedule. And since the new Edition of MIUI 12.5 isn’t a new iteration, we might see the update on global models next month, regardless.

Again, the Enhanced Edition is only an upgrade based on MIUI 12.5. It focuses on data and memory optimization to improve performance speed on reduced power consumption. The build didn’t bring any physical changes but has made significant improvements in system performance by introducing the below features.

  • Liquid storage – a new storage mechanism to the system responsive over time.
  • Atomized memory – focus on Ultra-fine memory management to make the RAM more active.
  • Focused algorithms – dynamically allocate system resources based on usage scenarios.

The first phase of the rollout will commence in Q4 2021. That means the device in the list below will start getting the build from October. However, it might be pushed front, given that the Chinese rollout is about to enter the second phase.
