Xiaomi is pushing a new stable update to the global variants of the Redmi Note 8 Pro. It’s a security patch build but brings multiple bug fixes taken from the MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition. Unfortunately, the Redmi Note 8 Pro won’t be getting the update as it looks set for premium Xiaomi phones. As usual, the current update is seeding for Mi Pilots for preview, which will last for a couple of days. If successful, the new global Redmi Note 8 Pro update will start seeding for everyone.
According to the update log, the current build has pushed the Android security patch to August 2021 and increased system security. Also, using Face unlock and fingerprint simultaneously crashing in some cases have been fixed, while lock screen notifications disappearing after a call gets resolved. The cleaner animations not displaying correctly have also been addressed as well as other minor issues.
Meanwhile, the update is seeding with a version number – MIUI 12.5.3.0 RGGMIXM – and weighs 351MB. And given the nature of OTAs, it will take some time before the update goes around, but you can always use the download below. However, that might brings up an error, which means the build isn’t yet available for the public. In that case, you should give it some time or check how to receive MIUI updates on time.
Aside from the Global variants of the Redmi Note 8 Pro, other regions are also receiving the September security patch update. You can check here and see if the update is available in your region, and if not, you should exercise and check back later.
