Xiaomi has presented the MIUI 13 Android skin after months of anticipation. The new Interface didn’t bring many features when compared to MIUI 12.5, which arrived a year before. However, there have been some improvements in the performance and stability of MIUI since then. Xiaomi is currently prioritizing the stability of MIUI, and probably the reason we didn’t see many features this time. According to the official roadmap, the update will start hitting eligible units towards the tail of January. Surprisingly, the Redmi Note 10 series phones are among the devices to receive the update during this period.
When Xiaomi announced the MIUI 12.5 in December 2020, they started beta registration for testers. Things took a different turn last year, with the company failing to recruit closed beta testers. Perhaps, they didn’t see the need since the update didn’t bring many features. They’re currently working with the registered testers, and that might speed up the MIUI 13 deployment.
Xiaomi 12 series phones are expected to get the MIUI 13 update alongside the Mi 11 series this month. Redmi Note 10 series phones are also in line to receive the update between January and March. It’s unclear if there will be a global unveiling for the new MIUI 13, but that might be unlikely as it didn’t present many features. However, given that some features won’t be coming to global units, Xiaomi might introduce the latest iteration of MIUI Globally alongside the Xiaomi 12 series phones.
