Xiaomi has now introduced its latest MIUI 12.5 Android skin. As expected, the new User interface focuses on system optimization and stability. It also adds some new features and a notable improvement on privacy. The new User interface is basically an improved MIUI 12, going by the features it presents.
Features of MIUI 12.5
Going by the highlights, the update brings lots of improvement and has virtually optimized all the features of MIUI 12. The MIUI 12.5 integrated a new animation framework to make movement more realistic and has revamped the system UI to make interaction with your device more lifelike. And with the improvement made in the system, gesture control has improved. MIUI has also become lighter, faster, and more durable and now has more rendering power.
There is a new improvement in system sounds, which was a core feature of MIUI 11. Xiaomi has now added more natural sound to MIUI, which represents animals from around the world. Stereo sounds are also added.
Another area that has improved with MIUI 12.5 is the Note App. It has been equipped with new features that make it easy to write and arrange your note. The note now integrates drag and drop, and you can generate brain maps with one click. It is now easy to create Notes, Tasks, and Excerpts anywhere, using the new gesture shortcuts.
There’s what Xiaomi calls MIUI+ ( Screen combo). It lets you connect your Xiaomi phone to your PC. The app allows you to view MIUI notifications and open phone apps on your computer. Items that you copy to the clipboard on your phone can be pasted on the computer and vice versa. The app also lets you transfer files from your computer to your device, which will come in handy when restoring backups.
Floating windows now work in instant messengers. This particular feature of MIUI 12.5 is limited to few Xiaomi phones. It lets you create a window from where you can reply to a conversation without opening the app. While using an app on a floating window, there’s an App flashcard that shows key info.
The Xiaomi Health app now has the capabilities of measuring your heart rate using the camera. The app has been optimized and will automatically detect your activities to start recording. As for casting, the aspect ratio of your device is automatically adjusted to the external monitor.
New ways to store passwords on the cloud using password manager built in Xiaomi cloud. The location of your device is recorded automatically before the phone powers off. This feature of MIUI 12.5 will make it easy to locate a stolen Xiaomi phone. Also, on the cloud, you can convert images to PDF.
Mi carrier service is a new system app that lets you manage multiple SIM cards now. The Home screen adds a Ripple animation for downloading apps and Bursts animation for uninstalling apps. It also adds a new design for the app folder and a vertical layout for recent. For themes, you can now adjust third-party fonts. There’s a personalization feature for system wallpapers, animation, and sound.
The browser now features wallpaper customization in the Lite mode. The incognito mode has been revamped, and the pages of the browser load faster. Mi family also lets you manage multiple SIM cards while the local search results are stored automatically. It now has an all-new design alongside the Mi Family app.
Amongst all the features of MIUI 12.5, it’s the privacy that gets the most improvement. Xiaomi is bringing four new weapons to protect its users’ privacy. There’s what is called Fusion fuzzy positioning. It allows a user to give an approximate location for service that doesn’t require a precise location. MIUI browser is now integrated with powerful web privacy capabilities that block webpage from gaining access to your data. The Ecological Norm and Proper privacy ensure each app in Mi App store have its privacy instructions.
The four privacy improvements, which are also part of the features of MIUI 12.5, are smart clipboard privacy protection, location information privacy protection, file sandbox mechanism, and web browsing privacy protection. Other features of MIUI 12.5 include a new boot animation and Mount Siguniang Super wallpaper.
