It has only been a couple of months since the stable MIUI 13 was released. The upgrade, which is rolling out with Android 12, has only made it to a handful of users, but that hasn’t stopped developers from bringing new changes. Perhaps, because the current iteration didn’t come with many changes, the company is now slowly adding the ones they feel will be ideal. They have redesigned the fingerprint customization interface while updating how the file manager dialogs are displayed.
The Xiaomi MIUI skin is one of the best Android skins out there, but that hasn’t made the company slow down in customizing and introducing new features. Meanwhile, some of these features are what the company removed and brought back, and that’s the case of the mobile data usage introduction to the Mi control center. Meanwhile, the fingerprint customization interface hasn’t seen the current changes before.
Of course, the new changes are only for devices with under-display fingerprint scanners. With the MIUI 13 V22.3.12 closed beta update, Xiaomi added previews for each animation on the card. Also, a demo of the vibration effect for each card when customizing a fingerprint animation.
The file manager got a new dialogs display design and is perhaps ideal. Dialogs for performing actions now float in the center of the screen, making it easy when handling with one hand for easy reach. Before now, only tablets had the dialog design, but it’s now being introduced to mobile phones.
As usual, these changes are exclusive to Chinese closed beta testers. It’s unclear when it will reach stable users or the global availability. Perhaps, Xiaomi will release it in the future with subsequent MIUI 13 updates. That said, we will keep a close look at the development and update this space accordingly.
