Xiaomi has been deploying Android 12 with a stable MIUI 13 update for months now. The rollout started in China before arriving for the international models, even before the current iteration of MIUI was presented globally. As expected, the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite received the update a few days ago with Android 12, but it turns out that the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 / Pro Android 12 upgrade is not on the card.
That seems surprising, given that the Lite model of the device has received the upgrade the Pro variants won’t be upgrading to. However, that’s not the case, as Mi Note 10 Lite debuted months after the release of the Mi Note 10 and Mi Note 10 Pro. Hence, it arrived with Android 10 while the Pro variants run Android Pie outside-of-the box. The duo currently runs Android 11, which given to Xiaomi update policy, is the last Android Os upgrade.
Well, it seems that’s the case with the latest development. The Chinese company is currently testing MIUI 13 for the Mi Note 10 / Pro based on Android 11. Unfortunately, that means the device will receive a stable MIUI 13 based on Android 11. According to Xiaomiui, the internal version of the update being prepared is MIUI 13.0.0.2 RFDMIXM, which confirms no Android OS upgrade.
Perhaps, there should be some excitement with the development even though it’s now confirmed that Xiaomi Mi Note 10 / Pro Android 12 won’t happen. With the stable MIUI 13, the device users can experience some interesting features baked inside the latest iteration of MIUI. However, you can turn to custom ROM if you want Android 12 badly now upgrade won’t be coming officially to the device.
