Xiaomi is pushing a new Redmi Note 11S stable update to global users. The new release, according to the update log, brings the latest patch, but it seems to include some bug fixes and optimizations. Supposedly, the update has addressed the fingerprint issue faced by some users after the last stable update.
A couple of weeks ago, Xiaomi rolled out a stable update to the Redmi Note 11S users to improve their device performance and stability. While the update did just that, it left a bug that made the fingerprint sensor stop working. Apparently, the phone can’t unlock via fingerprint, but the company has resolved the issue.
According to Vol.90 of the MIUI weekly bug report, it was MIUI 13.0.5.0 SKEMIXM that broke the fingerprint scanner, while a new build with a version number MIUI 13.0.6.0 SKEMIXM has resolved it. The update is already available for limited users, and you can download it from this link.
Meanwhile, some people are still getting the MIUI 13.0.5.0 build. Of course, you should ignore the OTA and wait for the latest version. To check for the new update, head to the updater app.
