Elon Musk’s Twitter has been causing a bit of an upset, at least you could tell from the various comments and complaints laid down by some users, advertisers and influencers as well. Nevertheless, the business keeps thriving and Elon Musk keeps moving. But meanwhile, it seems Elon Musk wants to make a phone.
Elon Musk wants to make a phone?
Rumours in the past have it that Elon Musk wants to make a phone although it remained a rumour as there wasn’t any threat, move or relevant evidence that the Twitter boss was planning this move – however, not anymore. Since the few upsets on the platform(verification shenanigans, Reinstating Donald Trump, a free speech Twitter), there are some propositions that Apple and Google are probably going to remove the app from their app marketplaces (App Store and Play store).
Although there’s no sign from Google and Apple as regards this move, Elon Musk might be moved to make a new phone if the removal happens. He has mentioned that the two companies thrived on high fees earlier and this might be the spark he’s looking for to make a competition.
You might think as Elon Musk wants to make a phone, he would need to start building software from scratch but that’s not the case. According to reports from 9to5mac, Tesla has its chip technology, software and even an impressive UI. Speaking of removing Twitter from the App Store and Play store, the Twitter boss can decide to make the APK available via other channels on Android. For iOS, it might be a bit complicated, but regardless, it might be pulled off.
That said, Twitter can even be accessed via the web and you might not need the native app. If Google and Apple decide to remove the app from their marketplace, it might lead to ending the two brands’ duopoly. Well, as time goes on, we’ll see what’s in the mind of the unpredictable Elon Musk.
