There have been so many launch dates for the MIUI 14, but Xiaomi has just officially confirmed it’ll be debuting the new iteration of its Android skin this week. The event will also see the release of Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro, which are expected to run Android 13 based on MIUI 14 outside-of-the box.
Xiaomi, for the last two years, released its latest iteration of MIUI on December 28. However, unlike the previous years, the launch has been pushed forward, and we’ll now see Xiaomi MIUI 14 debut on December 1. We expect the build to bring Android 13, which is perhaps why the company is yet to release the stable version of the latest Android OS.
Major OEMs, like Samsung, OnePlus, and Vivo, have been pushing the stable Android 13 based on their in-house skin for weeks now, while Xiaomi users are waiting. That’ll change with the release of MIUI 14, as the company plans to release both simultaneously.
According to reports, MIUI 14 will not introduce virtual changes. The company is focusing on making MIUI lightweight and streamlined. Also, we hope most bugs affecting users currently on MIUI 13 will get a fix.
It’s unclear at the moment if there’ll be a closed beta recruitment for MIUI 14. That seems unlikely, given that the build won’t bring many changes. Also, Xiaomi has been testing some of the features with its open beta rollouts. Hence, we expect a swift rollout after the unveiling, scheduled on December 1, 2022.
What next after the Xiaomi MIUI 14 official unveiling?
Xiaomi will start seeding the update to users in China. We expect the Global release almost immediately since there probably won’t be a closed beta recruitment. You can follow us on Telegram to know when the update starts rolling out for your device.
