Android Auto is a system that is designed to limit the interactions on your smartphone while you are on the road. The software has gained so much popularity on Android smartphones that a lot of phone brands can’t just leave it out of their smartphones. Well, “Google Assistant broken” is what’s the reigning issue among Android Auto users.
Google Assistant broken? Further reports
The issue of Android Auto users experiencing some kind of stoppage in the whole system came after the Android 13 update on their smartphones. For one thing, the whole Android Auto system was said to not be functioning after Pixel phones picked up the Android 13 update – but this was a minor issue.
The wider issue being “Google Assistant broken” was noticed on different OEMs, speaking of Sony, Redmi, Pixel and even Samsung Galaxy smartphones. According to sources, Android Auto doesn’t seem to be responding to either the Ok Google or Hey Google Command. Instead, there’s a blank show at the bottom bar of Android Auto as the picture above(via 9to5google).
Some users had to resort to the manual button to trigger the Google Assistant, while it worked for some, it remained the same for many others. Some users mentioned that they didn’t witness this kind of issue until after the Android 13 update. Well, you can’t blame the Android 13 as some Pixel phones were on it before the issue popped up – it could be some Google App update under the hood.
That said, some users said they noticed it after the installation of Android Auto 8.5.6. Meanwhile, sources mentioned another issue where Android Auto can’t read messages loudly. Oh well, we hope the Big G takes note of these issues and attends to them sooner or later.
