Xiaomi is participating in the Android 14 beta test, but it hasn’t affected the stable Android 13 release. The company is still rolling out the update to eligible phones with the Global Redmi Note 11 MIUI 14 update bringing the much-anticipated upgrade. It’s a limited rollout to allow time for Mi Pilot members to preview the build before public release.
It’s six months since the stable MIUI 14 update started rolling out, and while the upgrade has arrived for many phones across the globe, it has only been released to the Redmi Note 11 users. Currently, the rollout is limited to Global units, but we expect other regions to start getting the upgrade in the coming weeks.
The global Redmi Note 11 MIUI 14 update is seeding with a version number MIUI 14.0.2.0 TGCMIXM and weighs 3.8GB. According to the changelog, it comes with a stable MIUI based on Android 13, May 2023 security patch, and improved system security. Also, the search in settings is more advanced, with search history and category in results looking much crisper.
Of course, the Photon Engine to optimize power consumption and memory usage is part of the package. The Super Icon and New Widget format for more combinations on the screen are all part of the latest update, which also fixes bugs and optimized performance.
Meanwhile, there are reports of issues surfacing after an upgrade to MIUI 14, and we recommend checking these bugs before installing the update. Before installation, we recommend backing up your files before proceeding.
