OnePlus Open? No, that’s not a command. I know we’re all used to the “Fold” from different Android OEMs but you have to applaud OnePlus for taking a new initiative. We will be expecting a new OnePlus Open and renders show how amazing this foldable is going to be.
Details of the OnePlus Open renders
The OnePlus Open will be the company’s first foldable smartphone, and we first saw it in some CAD-based mockups in June. Meanwhile, the corporation acknowledged the name, but several speculations said it was delayed from its originally scheduled late August release date in order to change the screen maker.
It now appears that the adjustments will be even more significant. Today, a new batch of OnePlus Open renderings was released, ostensibly based on pre-production unit graphics. The aspect ratio of the phone when closed has altered significantly, as shown in the side-by-side comparison below – it’s now much more evocative to the Oppo Find N2 than it was in the original batch of renderings.
It also appears to be smaller than previously (the two side-by-side shots aren’t to scale), since the circular camera island appears to take up considerably more of the total space on the rear. Nonetheless, rumors suggest that it will be larger than the Find N2.The speakers have been repositioned for improved audio, and the frame has been modified as well. When in portrait mode, the selfie camera on the inner display has been shifted from the top left corner to the top right. The Hasselblad branding is now just a H on the back, over what may be a TOF or LIDAR sensor.
The alert slider remains, and the fingerprint sensor is, predictably (for a foldable), built in the power button. As you can see, the back features a fake leather texture.According to other sources, the Open will have a 7.8-inch inner screen and a 6.3-inch outside display, both with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which will be helped by up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The primary and ultrawide cameras will both have 48 MP sensors, while the telephoto will have 64 MP. The OnePlus Open is said to include a 4,800 mAh battery with 67W fast charging.
