Xiaomi has started rolling out the Redmi Note 12 5G Android 14 HyperOS update in China. The latest release is exclusive to Mi Pilots members for preview, with the public release expected in a couple of days. We also expect the global release soon, as the device is on the list to receive the update in H1 2024.
Xiaomi recently released HyperOS officially to the global market, though some devices have received the update already. That’s not the case with the Redmi Note 12 5G, but that changes now as the device is getting the much-anticipated upgrade. It’s limited to Chinese units, but we believe the global rollout will commence soon.
The Redmi Note 12 5G Android 14 HyperOS update is rolling out with a version number OS1.0.1.0.UMQCNXM. It brings all the expected features while bumping the Android security patch level to February 2024 to increase system security and stability. You can check the update via the update app or use the link below to download the Recovery ROM.
While waiting for the OTA, ensure your bootloader is locked and check all the reported HyperOS bugs. We recommend backing up your data before the installation, as some problems with the upgrade require a factory reset to be fixed.
