Poco has been active this year after nearly two years since the announcement of POCO F1, which was the company’s first and only smartphone until this year. They have gone to add the likes of POCO X2, M2, M2 Pro, X3, C3, and Poco F2 Pro to their stables, and will soon add a new one.
A few days ago, Poco executive, Anuj Sharma, confirmed that the Poco F2 Pro isn’t the direct successor of the Poco F1. According to him, the company is working on a new Poco phone that will match the $300 price tag of the latter considering the current smartphone trends. We believed this phone will debut next year, going by our previous report, but we might see it before the end of this year giving the new report by Poco product marketing manager and Global spokesman.
He tweeted that Poco doesn’t plan on stopping, at least, this year. And while on it, a new Poco phone has received Euroasian Economic Commission certification. The unknown device has a model number, M2010J19SC, hinting at a complete new Poco phone and not a global version of any Redmi phone.
For now, the model number of this new Poco phone is what we know and the fact that it will be launching this year. And since the company already has many mid-range phones, we expect the next one to be the direct successor of the popular Pocophone F1.
Of course, it’s all rumor till the company confirms the nature of the phone we are expecting later this year. It could yet be another Xiaomi phone, possibly the Redmi Note 10, with the model number looking alike. Nevertheless, we will keep tabs on the development as it concerns the new Poco phone and will update this space once we get additional information.
